About Solo.Swipe

Solo.Swipe is a photo cleaner and organizer for iPhone and iPad, built around swipe gestures. It is published on Apple's App Store and developed independently by Gül Eda Aydemir. This page is the reference record for the app: what it is, what it does, how it handles photos, and where to get it.

What the app does

Solo.Swipe turns photo cleanup into a card-by-card review driven by swipe gestures. Each photo fills the screen as a card. Swiping left marks it for deletion, right keeps it, up files it into an album, and down skips it. Nothing is removed until you confirm at the end of a session, and deletion is then carried out by iOS, which places the items in the Recently Deleted album for 30 days.

Rather than presenting the whole library at once, the app splits it into finishable sets — a single day, month or year, an album, a location, screenshots, selfies, videos, panoramas, RAW files, burst photos, your largest files, or a random batch of twenty photos. Smart Modes add a second layer, using on-device image analysis to surface photos worth reviewing first, such as likely blurry shots, photos where someone's eyes look closed, documents and receipts, text and notes, food, pets, plants, vehicles and sunsets. Blurry Photos measures sharpness across the whole frame and Closed Eyes doesn't check for a better retake, so Portrait-mode shots and the only photo of a moment deserve a second look before you delete. A separate Duplicates view finds duplicate pairs — photos captured in the same second at the same size — so one can be kept and the other cleared. Smart Modes, Duplicates and Large Files are Pro features that free users can unlock for a day by watching an ad.

Albums can be filed while swiping (swipe up) and cleaned up afterwards, including an Empty Albums list and the choice to delete an album but keep its photos. Progress is tracked with session summaries, a storage breakdown, a daily space goal (250 MB to 5 GB), a daily streak (review at least 10 photos), Streak Freezes, 20 achievements and four widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen, which is what makes the app work as a short daily habit rather than a one-off cleanup.

How photos are handled

Some app data does leave the device: usage statistics and crash reports go to Google Firebase (you can turn this off in Settings › Privacy › Share Usage Data), the free version is supported by advertising delivered through Google AdMob, which receives device and ad-request data but never your photos, and the coordinates stored in a photo are sent to Apple's geocoder to show a place name. The developer

Solo.Swipe is designed and built by Gül Eda Aydemir, an independent iOS developer. The app is written natively in Swift and maintained as a solo project. She also makes ATHA, DUMP, Solo.Shots and Solora; all of them are on her App Store developer page.

Detective Raccoon

Detective Raccoon is the app's mascot and guide. A cluttered photo library is treated as a case file: the raccoon points out the suspicious evidence — blurry shots, forgotten screenshots, the same screenshot saved twice — and celebrates when a session is closed. The playfulness is functional rather than decorative; a cleanup task that feels like a game is one people actually return to the next day.
