Solo.Swipe FAQ & Support

By Gül Eda Aydemir, indie iOS developer · Updated for version 5.0

Quick answer

Most problems have a quick fix below: blurry photos are usually iCloud originals still downloading, and storage comes back only after you empty Recently Deleted. If your question isn't here, email solostaseraofficial@gmail.com and the developer will read it.

Deleting and storage

I deleted photos, but my storage didn't go down. Why?

Deleted photos move to Apple's Recently Deleted album and keep using space for 30 days. To free the space now, open the Photos app, go to Recently Deleted, and delete the items there.

Can I recover a photo I deleted?

Yes, for 30 days. Photos deleted through Solo.Swipe go to the Recently Deleted album in Apple's Photos app, where you can restore them.

I swiped the wrong way. Can I undo it?

Yes. Tap the orange Undo button at the top right to reverse your last swipe. Nothing is deleted until you confirm at the end of the session anyway.

The app froze during deletion. What should I do?

Apple's deletion confirmation is handled by iOS and can occasionally lag. Restarting your iPhone usually clears it. Afterwards, check Recently Deleted to see whether the deletion went through.

I reached the daily deletion limit. What now?

The free version allows 50 deletions a day. You can watch an optional ad for 20 more, continue tomorrow, or upgrade to Solo.Swipe Pro for unlimited deletions.

If I delete the app, will my photos be deleted?

No. Solo.Swipe works on your Apple Photos library, and deleting the app leaves your photos and albums untouched. Only Solo.Swipe's own data, such as stats and streaks, is removed.

Using the app

Why do my photos look blurry in Solo.Swipe?

Your photos are probably stored in iCloud with Optimize iPhone Storage turned on, so the device keeps smaller versions. Connect to the internet and give the full-quality original a moment to load.

Will I see photos I've already reviewed again?

No. Solo.Swipe remembers your decisions so reviewed photos don't come back. To start fresh, use Reset Reviewed in the app's Settings.

Can I add photos to an album instead of deleting them?

Yes. Swipe a photo up to add it to any album on your device, or create a new album from the menu that appears.

Why isn't the Closed Eyes mode finding anything?

It looks for faces with both eyes closed in a random sample of photos on your iPhone and ignores small faces in the background. Run it again to check a different sample. Photos stored only in iCloud may not be checked. It doesn't look for a better retake, so make sure a photo isn't the only one of that moment before you delete it.

Does Solo.Swipe work without an internet connection?

Yes, for photos stored on your device: you can swipe, sort and delete offline. A connection is needed to load iCloud originals, to show place names in the Locations view, and for ads in the free version.

How do I add the Solo.Swipe widgets?

Widgets need iOS 17 or later. Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Solo.Swipe. For the Lock Screen streak widget, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, and add it there.

Pro, ads and privacy

Are my photos shared with anyone?

No. Your photos and videos never leave your device. The app sends usage statistics and crash reports to Google Firebase to improve the app. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy › Share Usage Data.

Why does Solo.Swipe ask about tracking?

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, and Apple requires apps to ask before ads can use your advertising identifier. Declining doesn't limit any feature; you'll see ads that don't use your advertising identifier.

How do I remove the ads?

Solo.Swipe Pro removes all ads, along with the daily deletion limit, with a monthly or yearly plan; see the current price on the App Store.

How do I restore or cancel Solo.Swipe Pro?

To restore, open the subscription screen in the app and tap Restore Purchase while signed in with the Apple Account you subscribed with. To cancel, go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Solo.Swipe.
