Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 9, 2026 · Last updated: September 12, 2026
ATHA is designed around a simple principle: your breathing practice should stay personal. Core practice data is stored on your device. Apple Health features are optional. Analytics are anonymous and opt-out.
01 — Who we are

About ATHA

ATHA ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is developed and operated by Gül Eda Aydemir, an independent iOS developer. This Privacy Policy explains how ATHA handles information when you use the App.

02 — Data we do not collect

What ATHA does not do

We want to be explicit about the privacy model:

03 — Data stored on your device

Core ATHA data

ATHA stores the following information locally on your device using Apple platform storage technologies:

No ATHA cloud: ATHA does not provide its own cloud-sync account for this data. Your operating system may still include app data in device backups depending on your Apple / iCloud backup settings. Those backups are controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by an ATHA server.
04 — Analytics

Anonymous product events

ATHA collects anonymous product analytics to improve the app's stability, performance, and design. Analytics are enabled by default but can be disabled in Settings.

05 — Apple Health

Optional HealthKit integration

ATHA can integrate with Apple Health only after you enable the relevant controls and grant permission through iOS.

Mindful Sessions Optional

When Save sessions is enabled in Settings, ATHA can write completed breathing session duration to Apple Health as a Mindful Session.

State of Mind Optional

When Share reflections is enabled and supported by your iOS version, ATHA can write reflections you choose to share as State of Mind entries.

Health permissions are managed by iOS. You can review or revoke them at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings. Data written to Apple Health is stored and managed by Apple's Health ecosystem according to your device, Health, and iCloud settings.

ATHA does not use Health data for advertising, profiling, or sale to data brokers.

06 — Notifications

Local reminders

If you enable reminders, ATHA requests permission to send notifications. Routine, daily, and streak-related reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

07 — Purchases

Apple StoreKit / App Store

ATHA is currently free and contains no subscriptions or in-app purchases, so no purchase data is generated by the App. If paid features are introduced in a future version, transactions would be processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit; we would not receive or store your full payment card details, and billing, purchase history, refunds, and subscription management would be governed by your Apple ID and Apple's terms and privacy practices.

08 — App Store and diagnostics

Apple-provided analytics and crash reports

Apple may provide ATHA developers with crash reports, performance diagnostics, and aggregated App Store analytics depending on your Apple analytics-sharing settings in iOS. These reports are used to improve app stability and performance. ATHA does not use this data to build a marketing profile about your breathing practice.

09 — Privacy manifest

App Store privacy reporting

ATHA includes a privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) that discloses to Apple and App Store users the categories of data collected and how they are used. The manifest covers on-device storage, analytics, Health integration, and third-party SDK usage in accordance with Apple's App Store privacy requirements.

10 — Website

ATHA website

This website is a static product and support site. The App's on-device privacy model does not automatically apply to third-party infrastructure used to host the website. If analytics, forms, cookies, or other website services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy should be updated before those services are enabled.

11 — Your choices

Control and deletion

12 — Children's privacy

Age considerations

ATHA is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated account or cloud database. If applicable law in your region imposes additional age or consent requirements, those requirements apply to your use of the App.

13 — Security

Device-level protection

Because core ATHA data is stored on your device, its protection relies in part on iOS security features and your device security settings. We recommend keeping iOS up to date and using a device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID where available.

14 — Changes

Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ATHA evolves or as legal and platform requirements change. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or an App Store update note.
