Privacy policy
The short version: SHOOTS doesn't collect any data about you. Your photos are taken and stored on your own devices, and they only leave them when you choose to share them.
- No account
- No ads
- No analytics
- No tracking
- Photos stay on device
Effective 22 October 2026 · updated 28 October 2026 · applies to SHOOTS for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, version 1.0 and later
This policy explains how the SHOOTS app ("SHOOTS", "the app") handles information. SHOOTS is made by Gül Eda Aydemir, an independent developer ("I", "me"). If anything here is unclear, email solostaseraofficial@gmail.com.
1. What I collect
Nothing. SHOOTS has no account or sign-in, no servers of its own, and it does not contain any advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software from third parties. The app makes no internet requests of its own; the only connections it makes are directly between your own devices, when you use a remote. I don't receive your photos, videos, settings, device identifiers, location or usage information, and I can't see how you use the app.
2. What stays on your device
| Information | Where it lives | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Photos and videos you take | The app's private storage on your iPhone, your Photos library, or both, as you choose in Settings → Save captures to | Only you |
| Shoot sessions, favorites and Trash | A database inside the app's private storage | Only you |
| Settings (timer, sounds, voice, framing) | The app's on-device preferences | Only you |
Photos kept "App Only" are stored in a folder that SHOOTS excludes from iCloud and device backups, so they stay on that one device. Deleting the app deletes them. Items you delete in SHOOTS move to its Trash and are removed for good after 30 days, or sooner if you empty them yourself. Photos you save to your Photos library follow your Photos and iCloud settings, which are managed by Apple.
3. Permissions and why they're asked
- Camera — to take your photos and videos. Required for the app to work.
- Microphone — only when you use a mode that records sound (Video, the + Video modes, Cinematic, Live), or to listen for “Cheese” if you turn on the voice start. Not needed for photos.
- Speech recognition — only for the “Cheese” voice start. Recognition runs on your device; what you say isn't recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
- Local network — only to use another iPhone or iPad as a remote. Your devices find each other nearby and connect directly.
- Photos — only to save your shots to your library and put each shoot in its own album, when you choose that option. SHOOTS does not upload or analyze your library.
You can change these at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. SHOOTS does not ask for your location, contacts or notifications, and it does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it doesn't track you.
4. On-device image and voice analysis
To start a shoot when you raise your palm, and for Pose Coach to know whether you're in close-up, full body or out of frame, SHOOTS looks at the camera picture using Apple's on-device Vision framework while the camera is open. For the “Cheese” start it uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. This happens only on your device, nothing from it is saved, and it isn't used for anything else.
5. Apple Watch and remotes
The SHOOTS Watch app communicates directly with SHOOTS on your own iPhone using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. If you use another iPhone or iPad as a remote, the two devices connect directly to each other over your local network (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth nearby), and a device can only connect after you tap Allow on the camera. Commands (start, stop, zoom, lens and mode) and, with SHOOTS+, the live viewfinder preview frames travel between your devices only. They never reach me or any server.
6. Purchases
SHOOTS+ is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether your subscription is active. I don't receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple's handling of purchase information is described in Apple's privacy policy.
7. Links to other apps and websites
SHOOTS can open the App Store pages of my other apps (DUMP, Solo.Swipe), Apple's subscription settings, and this website. Those pages are run by Apple or are covered by their own policies. Other apps of mine have their own privacy policies, linked on their websites.
This website sets no cookies and shows no ads. To count visits it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which stores nothing in your browser and doesn't follow you across other sites or build a profile of you. When a page loads, a small script from Cloudflare reports the page address, the page that linked to it, your browser, operating system and device type, your country (worked out from your IP address) and how quickly the page loaded; I see only totals, never individual visitors. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. The SHOOTS app itself contains none of this.
8. Sharing
When you share a photo from SHOOTS, iOS shows its standard share sheet and you choose where it goes. What happens next is governed by the app or service you pick.
9. Children
SHOOTS is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
10. Your rights
Because I don't collect or hold any personal data about you, there is nothing for me to access, correct, export or delete. Everything SHOOTS stores is on your device, under your control: delete photos in the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data. Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA still give you rights; if you have a question about them, email me.
11. Changes
If SHOOTS ever changes how it handles information (for example, if it added a feature that needs a server), this policy will be updated before that version is released, with a new effective date at the top, and the App Store privacy details will change to match.
